What type of Soft Tissue Manipulation do we offer?
Tui Na

Tui na is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, Chinese herbal medicine.

Tui Na is a hands-on-body treatment using acupressure  to bring the body into balance. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press and rub the areas between each of the joints to open the body’s defensive Qi and get the energy moving in both the meridians and the muscles. The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points and to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions.

Its purpose is to bring the body into balance, alleviate the physical and emotional tensions, promote Qi and blood circulation, and improve the range of motion.

Meridian Massage

The Meridian System is the foundation for the meridian massage. The 12 Meridians, or channels, are energy pathways. This system of invisible life force channels runs through the body to recharge the body's energy field. The meridians interconnect deep within the body core, with specific acupuncture points along each meridian. Qi and blood are transported using the meridians to nourish the entire body, ensuring organs and other parts of our body are in good health.  A blockage or disrupted flow of Qi and blood in the meridians,  or excessive/insufficient Qi and blood may result in sickness.

A Meridian massage stimulates and massages the acupuncture points using various manipulation techniques to help clear blockages and balance the flow of Qi and blood in the meridians, restoring the harmonious energy flow between yin and yang.  It alleviates physical and emotional tension and promotes the circulation of the lymphatic system.
